Our History
Whitney Buildings was founded in 1995 in Chouteau, OK. as a locally owned and operated pre-engineered building systems manufacturer serving Northeastern Oklahoma and the immediate surrounding states. Since its inception Whitney has developed into a multi-million dollar company providing custom, pre-engineered steel buildings to a variety of markets. Our projects have ranged from simple garage facilities, full scale shopping malls, to large industrial facilities with multiple overhead cranes and loading facilities.
Whitney Manufacturing is located in Pryor, Oklahoma on ten acres with 22,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity with direct access to major north-south and east-west highways, indirect access to Georgia Pacific railway and a very suitable technical work force to support a growing manufacturing company. We have recently added a design, drafting, detailing & engineering office located in Tulsa, OK.
Whitney Manufacturing uses the latest available software from Metal Building Software as its primary design, engineering and manufacturing tool. This tool allows us to pre-engineer each building with a comprehensive set of interpolation data, engineered drawings, engineering analysis and engineering certification ( as necessary ). This tool also assures our customers that we fully comply with AISC and MBMA design and manufacturing standards. In addition, the MBS software has a complete database for nearly every building code used in the United States and its corresponding engineering and design specifications.
We have developed a streamlined manufacturing process with multiple quality control checks throughout that are compatible with the AISC certification process that substantially complies with all of the AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.2 standards. Currently we procure the majority of our building system components from Central States and MBCI. As I am sure you are aware, these companies comply with all AISC and MBMA standards as they relate to producing cold rolled steel products for steel buildings.
Finally, our manufacturing staff has over seventy five years of combined experience with erecting and manufacturing steel buildings and over the last fifteen years has manufactured over thirty-one hundred pre-engineered steel buildings. In 2008 we designed and manufactured 190 buildings, and in 2009 we designed and manufactured 210 buildings.
Today Whitney Mfg. is still locally owned and operated. Since its inception, Whitney Manufacturing has grown to be the “Contractor’s Choice” for pre-engineered building systems.
